About

The audience deserves better.

Better than recycled headlines. Better than content built for advertisers instead of readers. Better than legacy media that stopped understanding its audience a decade ago and never caught up.

Authenticity isn’t a strategy.

We believe authenticity isn’t a marketing strategy. It’s the only thing left that actually works. A generation that grew up online can tell, instantly, when something is real and when it’s reaching.

We also believe entertainment used to be better. The 80s, 90s, and 2000s had a magic to them. Music meant something. Television had soul. Culture made you feel awake. Somewhere along the way, the volume got turned down. Everything started looking the same, sounding the same, saying nothing. We’re here to bring the magic back.

Born in Edmonton.

It started on 27 April 2016, in Edmonton, North London. A meme page. Reshared clips. Internet stuff. Born in a place we weren’t meant to be, with no plan beyond posting what made us laugh. The audience grew because the timing was right and the taste was sharper than the rest of the noise.

The name says everything. In London, a Baithead is someone everyone knows. Famous on the roads. Recognised in the ends. If you get featured on our page, that makes you a Baithead. We’re not just covering culture. We’re creating the people who shape it. Across the city, we’re making Baitheads.

In 2025 we deleted everything.

For nearly a decade, we did what most pages did. Watched the feed. Reposted the best of it. Built a following on the back of other people’s work. Then in 2025, we deleted it all.

The algorithm had changed. Reposting stopped working. Every page in the feed was running the same five clips, and nobody could tell anyone apart. So we wiped the slate. Rebuilt the page around original work only. Our cameras. Our edits. Our voice.

London Baithead grew faster in the year after that rebrand than in any year before it. Today, the community sits at over 100,000 people strong, with more than 413 million combined views in the last 90 days. A real audience built on real work. Not borrowed. Not bought.

What ten years taught us.

That experience shaped everything that came next. Ten years of running a platform taught us things no marketing textbook covers. Consistency is the only growth strategy that actually compounds. Adaptability separates the brands that survive from the ones that don’t. Audiences spot inauthenticity in seconds and lose trust faster than a page can earn it back. The algorithm doesn’t reward effort. It rewards taste.

News, built for 2026.

Today, London Baithead is an independent news platform built for the way people actually consume information in 2026. We cover global stories through a London lens. Politics, culture, music, sport, business, technology, fashion, and lifestyle. Sharp, honest, and written for a generation that switched off from legacy media a long time ago.

Most platforms in our space are competing for clicks. We’re competing for trust. The ambition isn’t to be another feed in the rotation. It’s to become the media outlet that millions of people trust more than the mainstream. Content that makes people smile, laugh, wake up, and evolve. Content that brainwashes people toward success, discipline, and growth, instead of the opposite. The vision is simple. Leave the world in a better place than we found it for the people of tomorrow.

Who runs it.

London Baithead is led by Alpay Bugur, founder and editorial director. He co-founded the platform in 2016 and has run it for over a decade since. He sets editorial direction, oversees coverage, and bylines the journalism on the site.

As the team grows, every writer will be listed publicly with their own bio and area of expertise.

From the endz to the world.
