We open the month with R&B royalty. Summer Walker brings her woozy, heartbroken, endlessly replayable sound to The O2 across two nights to kick August off in the feels. If your summer playlist has been carried by that specific brand of late-night R&B, these are your dates. Expect a crowd singing every word back at her.
Arsenal vs Borussia Dortmund (Emirates Cup)
Emirates Stadium · Sunday 9 August, 2pm
The Emirates Cup is back for its 15th edition, and it’s a proper one. Fresh off winning the Premier League last season, Arsenal welcome Bundesliga heavyweights Borussia Dortmund to N5 for their marquee home pre-season fixture. With 15 Gunners involved at the World Cup this summer, the club skipped an overseas tour, which makes this one of the only chances to see Arteta’s full title-winning squad in the flesh before the new campaign. A serious warm-up against serious opposition.
Arsenal vs Como
Emirates Stadium · Wednesday 12 August, 7:30pm
Three days later, Arsenal are back at the Emirates for a second pre-season friendly, this time against former Gunner Cesc Fàbregas’ Como 1907. There’s a real story here: Como finished fourth in Serie A last season, their best-ever finish, and qualified for the Champions League for the first time. A former Arsenal legend bringing his exciting Italian project to North London under the lights. One for the purists.
The Weeknd & Playboi Carti
Wembley Stadium · 14, 15, 16, 18 & 19 August
One of the biggest tours on the planet lands at Wembley for a monster five-night run. The Weeknd, with Playboi Carti in tow, takes over the national stadium across five dates in August (the 14th, 15th, 16th, 18th and 19th). Stadium-sized production, wall-to-wall hits, and one of the most in-demand live shows in the world. If you’ve got tickets, you already know. If you don’t, this is the hottest ticket of the month.
Chelsea vs Real Sociedad

West London gets its pre-season moment as Xabi Alonso’s Chelsea host his former Spanish side from his playing days Real Sociedad at Stamford Bridge. A final tune-up and a chance for the Blues faithful to get their first proper look at the squad before the season kicks off. A solid Saturday out for the Chelsea crowd.
Ariana Grande

This is a big one. Ariana Grande takes up a near-residency at The O2 with a staggering ten dates across the back half of August and into September. Heads up though: every single show is officially sold out. If you’re desperate to go, your only route now is the official resale platforms, so tread carefully and avoid the touts. Formula E London E-Prix
Excel London · Saturday 15 – Sunday 16 August
Motorsport meets the mainstream as the Formula E London E-Prix returns to Excel for a double-header weekend. It’s one of the most unique races on the planet, a circuit that runs both inside and outside the Excel arena, making it a genuinely wild spectator experience. Fast, loud (well, electric-loud), and right in the heart of East London.

Land of the Giants 3
Embargo Republica / Fulham · Saturday 29 August
Now for the one that went viral across the world. Land of the Giants returns for its third edition, and it’s London’s famous 6ft-and-over party, where the men actually get measured at the door. Drop below the height requirement and you’re not getting in, simple as that. It’s become an internet phenomenon, beloved by women who are into taller guys and endlessly memed everywhere else. Crucially, this edition lands slap in the middle of Carnival weekend, which means the huge international crowd flying in for the bank holiday finally gets a shot at experiencing the party they’ve only ever seen going viral online. Expect it to be absolute scenes.
Notting Hill Carnival – Family Day

And now we build to the main event. The Notting Hill Carnival is here, and 2026 is extra special, marking the 60th anniversary of a festival born in 1966 as a celebration of Caribbean culture and community in West London. Sunday is Family Day, the children’s parade, a slightly calmer but no less vibrant introduction to the biggest street party in Europe. Soca, steel bands, jerk chicken in the air, and colour everywhere. The warm-up to the wildest day of the year.
A$AP Rocky
The O2 Arena · Sunday 30 August
As if Carnival weekend wasn’t already loaded, A$AP Rocky rolls into The O2 the very same night. Fresh, chaotic, effortlessly cool, a Rocky show is a whole vibe, and doing it on the Sunday of Carnival weekend makes it the perfect way to keep the energy going into the night. The city will be electric.
Notting Hill Carnival – Adults Day
Notting Hill · Monday 31 August
We finish where London always finishes its summer: on the streets of Notting Hill, for the crown jewel of the entire calendar. Bank Holiday Monday is Adults’ Day, the main parade, and it is pure, unfiltered magic. Around two million people, the world’s second-biggest carnival after Rio, a river of colour, sound systems shaking the pavement, feathers and sequins and smoke, and a whole city moving as one. It doesn’t matter your race, your background or where you’re from, for this one day, everyone belongs. This is what London does better than anywhere on earth. If you do one thing in the city this year, make it this.
